Credit History Reports: This report reveals credit history, including paying habits, judgments, liens, bankruptcies, as well as previous addresses, prior employment, any variations in their social security number, and possible aliases used. Credit history is also useful in determining financial responsibility, money management, and the possibility of wage garnishment by state or federal tax authorities. For employment purposes only, accessing an applicant's credit record will not reflect on their credit report and will not affect their risk score.
Criminal History Reports: A criminal history report is fundamental for an employer's use in determining whether or not to hire a potential employee. NAS conducts criminal searches throughout the United States and Canada. A search of the state's criminal records repository, this search reveals convictions noting date of charge, type, pleas, and disposition, including any time served, fines, and probation information. Available information varies from state tot state. Please note that not all states are available for Statewide Criminal Searches. In some cases, signed release forms are required and additional fees may apply.
Motor Vehicle Reports: A motor vehicle report furnishes to an employer the driving record from the state of the applicant. It reduces risks and limits liability for the employer when the potential employee must drive for business related purposes. MVR's will also provide insight into drug/alcohol problems, irresponsibility, and dangerous driving habits.
National Criminal Database Search: A national database search includes criminal records of over 200 million records in 47 states (excluding Hawaii, Colorado and South Dakota). Data contained in the search can come from statewide repositories, local county information, and department of corrections, sex offender registries and Administrations of Courts records. This search does NOT include all criminal records contained in each of the 47 states listed. This search also includes a simultaneous search of 43 state's sex registries, the Interpol Most Wanted and OFAC Blocked List databases. The National Criminal Database Search is an effective "pre-screen" tool which, combined with a jurisdiction criminal history search, identifies criminal history records that otherwise would never be discovered.
Federal District Court Searches: This search will reveal any Civil, Criminal, or Bankruptcy cases in Federal Court.
Employment Verification Reports: An employment verification report provides a candidate's employment history and is used to determine if there are any discrepancies within the resume or application. NAS will verify the dates of employment, positions held, salary, job duties, and eligibility for rehire. With as many as 36% of job applications falsifying some part of their employment application, this search is a must.
